Full or partial engine and gearbox rebuilds undertaken, all work is carried out with the utmost care and precision. No shortcuts are taken, every component is checked, cleaned measured and inspected after which a decision is made to repair, replace or reuse the part.
I have a dedicated engine building room so absolute cleanliness is guaranteed during final assembly. All engine re-builds will include a full written report and a photographic record of the works carried out.
Laverda triple cylinder head service
Give your machine the head it always wanted. Laverda triples have long been plagued with cylinder head issues, some caused by poor design, some by poor material choice and many more by ham fisted maintenance or repair over the years. I offer a complete cylinder head service that will eliminate all old and possible future cylinder head problems. Valve clearances restored, three angle valve seat cutting, valves re-faced, valve seat replacement where necessary, colsibro K-lining of valve guides which permits tighter valve to guide clearance reducing oil consumption and seat wear, stem seals fitted to exhaust valves, head gasket faces are re-machined to the optimum surface finish, all valve and seat work is carried out using Serdi Millennium machinery. All cam bearing stud holes are timecerted as a matter of course. New valves and high performance valve springs always in stock. Cam bearing location repaired and cam bearings aligned to prevent power sapping tight camshafts.
Two and four valve twins also catered for, all headwork is carried out on a job by job basis. A written quote will be given after initial inspection.
Laverda Crankshaft overhaul
I can repair overhaul and balance all Laverda crankshafts in house. This makes me unique among the UK’s Laverda specialists. The advantage of carrying out my own crankshaft repair is it gives me absolute control over quality, this can be an issue when components are sub contracted perhaps to persons less driven towards perfection. The crankshaft is the very heart of your engine. I have acquired the necessary jigs, fixtures, spares and in depth crank knowledge from Phil Todd, one time proprietor of the now legendary Motodd concern in Croydon. Crankshafts are assembled and trued to exacting standards and fitted with either re-conditioned factory connecting rods or Carrillos which I strongly recommend if the engine is going to be used hard. I can also assemble and supply rather special lightweight 360 or 270 degree twin cranks using SFC750 type centres from stock.
